Google Buzz in my gmail inbox – what is this?

Yesterday I was opening my email and was presented with an offering from Google – Google Buzz .  I hardly ever turn down a google offering so I followed and well, it looks like Google’s really stepping up against Facebook.  I already had followers and so of course, I followed them – reciprocity and all.  The question I have about this is what is the reach of the comments I post.  It says “public” so I’m just wondering if it’s going into Google Real Time search ie. twitter comments, etc.  Frankly, Facebook keeps changing its settings so frequently, I can see where Google would easily convert the gmail users but I wonder about the non-gmail users.  Will they join?

Man, it’s hard to keep up with Google these days – once this integrates with the site feature stuff they recently implemented, it’s going to explode and Google will be the biggest cyber business in the universe.  Hold on to your data!

i have just set up my profile and will test it and see how it goes. It seems good so far, but only time will tell. There has been a lot of hype so far about it, seems Google does not want to lose out on anything.
